The Little Green Alien

Book One in the series:  A great short story for new readers or for the bedtime story and perfect for ages of up to around 12 years old.

 

On her way home from school one day, Caitlin decides that when she grows up she wants to be an astronaut. She asks her Daddy if he can make her a rocket-ship and together they build the most magnificent rocket-ship ever! Built from old pallets, an upturned plant pot and a metal sieve and painted in a lovely red with ribbons of orange and yellow attached to the bottom that flutter in the breeze, the rocket is ready for lift off.

 

That night, when the moon is full and after Mrs Thomas, who is secretly the neighbourhood white witch, casts a little spell on the rocket.  Caitlin's sleep is disturbed by some strange noises in the garden and when she peeps out of her window she spots a small and funny looking green alien standing in her rocket-ship and her magical journey into space begins.

The Secret Fairy Wood

Caitlin and her family get to spend a week in a cute little cottage in Cornwall, courtesy of their lovely and slightly quirky neighbour's.

 

In Caitlin’s bedroom for the week, there is an amazing mural of a woodland scene featuring little fairies. She is very excited about her holiday and when she is all snuggled up in bed, her adventure in the secret fairy wood begins.

An enchanting rhyming short story about the fairies that live in the roots of the hawthorn hedge at the bottom of the garden.

 

When young fairy, Daisy, loses the ruby stone, all the fairy magic is lost and without their magic, the fairies can no longer collect the children’s teeth that have been so carefully placed beneath their pillows. Daisy knows she must do something to get the stone back and with her brother Joe they set out on a mission to find the stone and return the magic to the land of fairies once again.

A Christmas Eve Tale

This is such a lovely little story, easy to read with effortless rhyming, making it a perfect bedtime tale for young children over the festive period. 

 

Christmas is such an exciting time of the year.  I remember with fondness being a young age and listening out for the jingle of sleigh bells or the chance siting of Saint Nick with his jolly belly, fluffy white beard and red velvet suit! To be fair, I still do!
